I Am Back! Oncidium Splendidum
I have not posted in over a year. The reason is simple: I moved! I did not move from one location to another in the same country, I moved from one country to another. I used to have 2,000 orchid plants, I moved only about 120, those that were good and that I had obtained from a local grower who obtained all the permits to export them. Plants had to be shipped bare root and I only took pieces of them.
It took a while to get my “greenhouse” built, I was eventually only allowed to build a screened patio about two months ago. In the meantime I had the plants under palm trees in the backyard, not the optimum set up, too many insects and lots of ants.
As a good orchid collector, by now I have about 200 plants. The picture above is from a plant I brought from home, a nice Oncidium Splendidum, which is doing much better here than it was at home.
