Dendrobium Samarai x Dendrobium Blue Sparkle

I love these Antelope type Dendrobia. I had a lot of them, but when I moved I was advised not to take them because it was easy to find them in the US. Well, no such luck, I used to have all but two of the species and have been able to replace about six only. This one is a hybrid, Den. Samarai x De. Blue Sparkle.

When I went to Singapore to the World Ochid Conference, I tried to buy some, but they also had few. They had lots in the exhibits, but not for sale. Their explanation: people don’t want them, the plants get too big!

I want them!

  1. I WANT THEM TOO! lol
Plus I know of several other people who want them…

Sadly they are quite difficult to find in the US. Since there are small species/hybrids, and some of us DO have the room/desire for giant plants, this is a lousy cop-out excuse.

I really like your Samurai hybrid- very attractive! I have the capra hybrid; yours looks to have darker stiping on the lip which is nice.

  2. Hi Miguel. I love the antelope dendrobium as well and have quite a few of them. I collect species and have some nice hybrids as well. I’d be willing to trade some keikis and divisions if your interested. I’m in Florida and we can work out details if you’d like. Let me know if you’re interested. Thank you!

  3. I also have a blog http://www.orchidgh.blogspot.com
